Harris Poll - March 31, 2011 -
Majorities of Americans Support Legalizing Medical Marijuana In Their State, including the most socially conservative areas of the South. Pew Research 2010: nearly three-quarters of Americans (73%) favor their state allowing the sale and use of marijuana for medical purposes.
AARP 2004: Nearly three-quarters of Americans over age 45 years support legal access to marijuana for medical use, with over half stating they would use it or give it to a suffering loved one.
Gallop 2003: three-quarters (75%) of the nation's adults are in favor of allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to patients in order to ease pain and suffering.
